A Brief tour of Ambrose Residence

This is where I live. At least for the next 6 months of my life.

The guys live on the left side and the gals live on the right. Each floor has its own common area.

The common areas look like this:

A Brief Tour of Ambrose (Part 2)

The following is a picture tour of my school. It is my hope that you will be encouraged at what God is doing with Ambrose University College and I do hope that you will remember all the students who attend this school.  Special thanks goes to Wes Campbell for providing many of the following pictures. You can probably tell which pictures I took.

Both day and night pictures of the school logo.

Inside the library. The Ambrose shield is displayed as you entered into the library.

Another view. This time from the circulation desk. (If you zoom into the picture, you will notice that they are signing media release forms for this picture.)

Students studying...sortof.

CIMG0716

Another view of the library....lots of books!

CIMG0719

The new library uses compact shelving to store more books in less space. It is very easy to move the shelves to get the books.

A few more shots of the breezeway. The building does not connect to the library, so this is the only entrance for someone who wants to go into the library.

To the other part of the building!

Left is administration and right is the reception.

Left: Classroom. Middle: Cafeteria. Right: Lobby.

Leaving the cafe and going to the other part of the school.

CIMG0812

This is a place where students can hang out and receive announcements on incoming events.

CIMG0813

The other side of the hallway contains our mailboxes and a pool table.

CIMG0816

Also in this area is our gym.

Gym benches

The gym is where we currently hold our chapels, special lectures and of course sports events.

CIMG0817

On the upper level of courtyard link, we have a music department.

CIMG0818

There are many classrooms here. In addition, there are also many practice rooms.

CIMG0819

The upper level of the courtyard link looks almost the same, where students can hang out.

CIMG0820

I think it speaks for itself.

The fish symbol. Left are the stairs to the lobby. Right is a biology lab and computer lounge.

Inside the computer lounge AKA Info Commons.

The offices on the left side near the end of the fish are the student services available to all students. These offices include the chapel coordinator, student financial aid, the VP of student development, resident directors, career development, learning services and counseling.

CIMG0840

This is above the library. The stain glass window that you see in the middle is the prayer room.

A Very Brief History of My School: Ambrose (Part 1)

Some of you may be familiar that I attend a Bible College in Calgary. And some of you may be wondering "What is the school name again?" Well, when I first came down to Calgary, the school was called Canadian Bible College and they had a partnership with Nazarene University College. Then in January of that first year, the school was officially called Alliance University College and Nazarene University College. Finally, last year AUC/NUC merged and called themselves Ambrose University College. Some of you might need some visual pictures so here:

So there you have it. My school in all of its names during my attendance. This year, I am back at the school which has another name to it:

Ambrose.Sem_horz_PMS124

My school has moved from the downtown campus to its permanent location in SW Calgary. It is so new that even Google Maps at the time of writing this blog, does not have our location.

There you have it, a brief introduction to my school. Stay tune for part 2 where I will show you pictures of my school.

The First Post

Although I have blogged many times on a huge variety of topics, this blog is primarily written to tell you about my thoughts on God, Ministry and Life in General. I hope as you read the posts that will come up here, you will learn more about who I am and what God is doing in my life.
